Don't Be Such a Punk!!!

There were thousands upon thousands of prisoners in the different concentration camps during the Holocaust. Yet, there were no large scale revolts that occurred. Many question arise because of this. Were the prisoners outnumbered by the guards? Why would they just go into these camps without a fight? Many of you have made the comment, "That wouldn't have happened to me because I would fight back or rebel!" There are people who feel that the Jews shouldn't accepted their fate so easily. Well now you get to add your opinion in the mix. Do you feel that the prisoners handled this situation wrong? Do you feel the people in Night should have rebelled more? Why do you feel the way you do? What could the prisoners have possibly done to prevent their deaths while in the camps?  What possible reason could you think of as to why more people did not revolt?

  1. They didn't want to fight back because they was scared and they didn't want to die so that's why they did everything they told him to.

  2. I think they should have fought back because there were more Jews than Nazis. They probably didn't fight back because they might have thought, in their mind, that the Nazis were more powerful than them. I think that prevented them from fighting back.

  4. I think the Jews involved in the holocaust were afraid of what might happen if they did try to fight back. If all the Jews thought the same thing or had the same mind set then no one would revolt or fight back. I think it they had more courage they could have ended the Holocaust their self.

  5. I think that they were afraid and that some of them didn't rebel because they had other family members that they had to stay with because if some of those people were to leave the only family member they had they might would have kilt there selves or asked the SS officer to kill them just so they wouldn't be alone so i think they was scared.

  6. Because even with them out numbering the guards. They still had guns and other ways to take control over them. That some of the Jews were scared any way to even to try and fight for their freedom. Or to even try an little thing that might have helped them. They knew that the guards had orders to kill or abuse anyone that got out of line.

  7. I don't think they should've fought back because they were vulnerable, And i think they knew they were gonna die either way so they waited to see if they would be set free.

  8. I think they should have fought back because if they did they might have gotten out of the situation faster. But in a way they should've fought back because if they did then they would have gotten beaten more. I think Elie should have helped his father out when he got beaten

  9. I feel like the prisoners know if they was to fight back then they would have died. They didn't fight back because they knew what would happen. To prevent their deaths they should have done everything the people above them told them to do.

  11. I think they did handle the situation Good , why because if they had did more then what they have did . they may not have lived as longer as they did , the guards would have maybe killed them right then on the spot. And I don't think they should have rebelled more . they did Just fine as they were doing .

  14. I think they should have fought back because there were a lot more of them. I feel they probably didn’t fight back because they thought that the Nazis were powerful than them but I feel that was no excuse because they really could of took them out.

  15. The reason I think that they didn't rebel against the officers is because they probably felt like they were going to get kill.
